Travel wishlist: a brand new idea

Hi everyone! After some trips this year, I realized that my idea of traveling and the consequent wishes had significantly changed. So, I wanted to share my updated travel wishlist because it has evolved so much, and some of you might find it inspirational.

When I started traveling, I was a living checklist. My travels only made sense if I checked off all the items from my list. So my days were jampacked with things to do and places to visit because I was sure this was the right way to enjoy a trip. After the pandemic and my ill period, I switched my priorities. My new travel era is more spontaneous, relaxed, and aware that I have time. I can always go back to visit other things, feel tired and slow down, stay a little longer in one place if I want, and so on. This awareness makes me chiller and willing to enjoy the moment, forgetting about ticking off a checklist. That's how I started enjoying car trips in little Italian villages, where the only thing I can do is have a pleasant stroll around the town and have a lovely time with my fiancé. And maybe do some shopping! That's also why I started selecting the things I want to visit and see during my trip based on the number of days I spend away. So, I plan a maximum of two visits per day, and the rest of the time is dedicated to spontaneous walks, talks, activities, and relaxation.

This new mindset made me appreciate slower tourism. I can discover little gems I wouldn't normally consider and be happy with little escapes. For example, I loved some villages near Milan, like Grazzano Visconti, Bobbio, and Castell'Arquato. I still enjoy the bigger cities, but I love the smaller places' authenticity and slow living.

Having said that, let's move to my travel wishlist.

UK

I visited only Edinburgh once, but I'm curious to see more of the UK. So, my travel wishlist includes London, the Cotswolds, Lake District, and more. I envision a long trip to visit London and then go around the tiny villages to live a different experience.

France

I love France; it has so much charm that I can't resist. I visited only Paris, but a part of my heart is still there. So, I want to discover more.

I want to go back to Paris to do less touristy things. Then, I want to visit Giverny, Versailles Gardens, South of France, Provence, and Bordeaux. These are the most fascinating places for me. Every time I see a video about them, my heart drops.

Europe

The other European places I want to visit are Prague, maybe around Christmas time, Porto, Sevilla, Athens, and the Greek islands. As a Mamma Mia fan, I want to have that vibe at least once.

It may sound cliché, but it gives me so much joy that it can't be that bad.

USA and more

If I jump on a plane to the USA, I must see New York City again. I visited in my previous travel era and want to see it with my new mindset. Then, on my travel wishlist, you can find Hawaii, Los Angeles, and Connecticut.

Thinking of other places, I'm curious to see Toronto, Vancouver, and some areas nearby.

Changing continents and moving to Africa, I would love to see Zanzibar and do a safari, but I'm a little scared. I would love to find a great travel agency that plans everything for me so I can relax and rely on it.

For now, that's my travel wishlist. I'm looking after this list because I want to travel only where I'm enthusiastic about it. I don't want to just tick off some places from a standard list. I hope to share my reviews and itinerary from these places soon. But, in the meantime, I want to inspire you to look inside your heart and trust your gut. Follow your heart and dreams; they know the way.
