Normcore: everything you need to know and 10 outfit ideas

Hi everyone, and welcome to a new week! The shop launch is around the corner, I can't cope with all the emotions I'm feeling, and a new wave of inspiration just hit me.

Today's post is the first of a new series because I want to create something you can refer to when you need to know something about fashion. I want to start with the different personal styles, giving you some notions about them and outfit ideas in case you want to experiment. Why personal styles? Well, even if I love fashion, I haven't found my style yet, so I thought many people like me didn't know how to style a proper outfit and wanted to learn about the different genres. I hope you enjoy this new series! Let's start with normcore, a style that wants to be unisex, neutral, and with a sameness attitude.

The normcore trend started in 2013 when the K-Hole agency created this name to define the people who didn't want to be unique at all costs creating a new aesthetic with basics and neutral colors. It's the antitrend trend. In a world where everyone needs to differentiate from other people, the normcore goes in the opposite direction creating a world with ordinary people able to connect and relate because of their not-so-common normality.

When I read the story behind the normcore word, I was fascinated and related so much to the definition. I know it's crucial to be unique and show this to the world, but sometimes you just need someone who understands what you're facing and connects with you. Normcore is the fashion expression of this human need, and that's unbelievable how the way you dress can express your inner world.

The fundamentals of the normcore style

You'll need some great basics to try dressing with the normcore aesthetic. Denim, dad sneakers, bucket hats, belt bags, white socks, hoodies, basic T-shirts, and everything in neutral colors and unisex shapes. Of course, the classic white button-down is from your boyfriend's closet, and your favorite T-shirt is from the men's section. You need to say goodbye to feminine fits and classic outfits. The typical normcore outfit tells you nothing about yourself but that you're a cool normal person.

Let's move to normcore outfit ideas.

Let me know in the comments what trend or style you want me to share.
