Content Creation 101: how to find your aesthetic
Well, you have the content creator starter kit. Now it's time to shoot! How? What? Today's episode of Content Creation 101 is about how to find your aesthetic.
I love today's post because I found the one for the blog so easily and quickly, but I'm still struggling with my personal. So, today we can explore together this crucial step for creating content.
Before giving you some tips and inspo to find your aesthetic, I want to remind you that it's perfectly normal that your aesthetic can change over time. As you grow, your preferences change, like your style and aesthetic. I want to ensure that you embrace this kind of change and have fun with it. Also, your audience will love this evolution, and your content will have more movement. It's a win-win for everyone!
Moodboard
The first source of inspo and clarity is your moodboard. When creating one, you search for inspiring pictures accordingly to what fits best in your dream life. So, the overall aesthetic comes out naturally.
You may have lots of colors, so your content will be colorful and joyful. On the other hand, your moodboard could be monochrome, so you can start creating monochromatic content.
My advice is to go with the flow and let your inner creativity come across your moodboard. After all, you're looking for something that makes you unique.
Your moodboard couldn't be enough, so the best inspirational place to find renewed energy is Pinterest. Scroll the home feed that is already optimized for your preferences. If you're looking for something specific, type "aesthetic" after your keyword. This simple method gives you a more comprehensive range of pictures.
Your everyday life
The best way to create content without burnout is to comprehend your everyday life. You might think that your routines are boring or your life isn't interesting enough, but your audience is looking for someone relatable that has the same struggles, that live some boring days and some fantastic days. So, take your audience with you during the day, and share your thoughts and how you overcome daily struggles.
The curated and inspirational content is part of your process, but remember to include your everyday life too.
Explore page
The IG Explore Page is like the Pinterest home feed; you'll see content based on what type of content you love the most. It's an interesting page on IG where you can get inspiration for your future shootings, you can chat with new creators, find new accounts to follow, and discover trends.
Experiment
Lastly, I suggest you experiment with everything. It's normal if you don't figure your aesthetic out on the first try. But you can try with one, shoot some content, see if you enjoyed it, and change.
Even if you have a clear vision of what content you want to create, you can experiment with other things. Trying new styles is a way to expand your vision or confirm your aesthetic.
