What to do at home when you’re bored

Hi everyone! For today's blog post, I want to tackle all the different activities I started doing at home since the beginning of the pandemic. When the lockdown hit, I was lost because I used to spend most of my day out of my apartment. So, I had to develop some fun activities to spend my spare time at home. But then, I never stopped because these activities fulfilled my heart with joy and inspiration.

I confess that I'm a homebody person, but I still enjoy being outside. The activities I do at home are something I can do when it rains, or I don't feel good, I'm bored, or I want to feel more inspired.

Also, I love that I can do these things alone or with someone. I hope you'll like them and, maybe, you'll enjoy them as much as I do!

Puzzle

I used to do puzzles when I was a child. They made me feel calm and entertained at the same time. I bought the first puzzle when I was sick during the second lockdown, and since then, I've been utterly obsessed. Now that I'm grown up, the puzzle is entertainment and therapy simultaneously. My brain concentrates all the energy on the making, and all the bad feelings are instantly gone!

I know that the boxes take a lot of space, and you can do the same thing on your iPad. But, the physical puzzle is on another level for me because it involves all of my senses!

My favorite shop is Amazon because I love doing Disney-themed puzzles. Here are some of my favorites! All the links are not affiliated.

Vision board and mood board

I already mentioned my love for vision boards and mood boards. I love making them either digitally or papery. The only distinction between the two is that I focus on the goals and projects I want to realize when creating a digital vision or mood board. When I do the same with paper and scissors, I take all the pictures I love from the magazines and try to free my creativity to make just a beautiful collage.

Bake

I'm not a super fan of cooking and bakery, but sometimes I bake a yummy dessert to enjoy during the week. My favorite recipes are banana bread, apple pie, and a chocolate muffin.

Sewing

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm starting a sewing course this year because one of my goals is to learn how to sew clothes and tiny home textiles. This activity can be more expensive than the previous ones, but I see it as an investment. Also, I'm taking the course with my boyfriend, so it's a hobby we can do together. I love it so much!

Read or listen to audiobooks

Recently I tried Audible because I was not able to read. I confess that I love listening to audiobooks so much! They keep me company while I do the house duties or get ready.

I still love reading paper books and e-books. Still, audiobooks are a great alternative I'm introducing during my spare time. At the moment, I'm listening to Little women.

Take a photoshoot by yourself

You'll need a camera or your phone, a good light, and your creativity. Portraits, outfit pics, detail photos, name your favorite! It's a great way to have fun, take care of your confidence, feed your creativity, and create content for your IG. How cool is that?

If your inspiration is at a lower point, you can search for some ideas on Pinterest.
