Hi everyone! I know it may be sound a little crazy, but I'm officially looking forward to spring and warm weather. But, unfortunately, it's still grey, cold, and foggy here in Milan. So, I've decided that I'm going to lift my mood up thinking about spring and all the fabulous things we can all do with warmer temperatures. So, who's on the same page as me?

My mood is so dependent on the weather, so I want to treat it with some positive vibes to start the new week great. And what better way than planning the top pieces we can wear now and in spring 2022? I know the new season calls for a new closet and intense shopping sessions, but I'm trying to optimize my clothes. Also, I'm trying to spend a little less than usual because I want to treat myself with travels this year and save some money.

Of course, I still love a good old shopping session, but, as you know, I started making lists of all the things I need to buy and focus my shopping energies only on those pieces. I tested this method for fall-winter clothes, and I swear that it works so well. So, I want to make my spring-summer list with you today with some strategic pieces that we can wear now and in spring 2022.

Tees

On top of my list, there are good quality tees. I'm so picky with tees because I like when they have relaxed short sleeves, good quality fabric, and a comfortable fit but not too oversized. Unfortunately, I struggle to find tees that I like and flattering on my body, so my drawers lack tees for the new season.

This year, I want to start building an edit of good tees that I can wear in so many different ways. Of course, the best way is to withdraw from the basics: solids and neutrals. But if you are forward than me, you can play around with graphic tees and cropped ones to spice the outfit.

A great T-shirt is a staple in everyone's closet. It allows you to create an effortless outfit easily, dress down a blazer, give an edgy vibe to an easy fit, layer to keep you warm under a knit. Also, if you are on the market for a good quality tee, you can have it in your closet for multiple years, so the cost-per-wear is near zero.

Pro tip: if you want quality but need to stay on a budget, check the vintage stores and the local markets. You'll find some gems!

Relaxed jeans

I'm so happy this year because I found a great pair of jeans. I know I already stressed you out with my lovely Mango denim, but it's so surreal for me!

Relaxed jeans are great all year around. However, if you are cold during winter, you can layer with leggings underneath. I'm pretty ok wearing denim during colder months because I usually wear a long coat over my outfit, and my legs stay warm thanks to it! During spring, denim is a must-have. It's the perfect staple that saves you most of the time, fits with different styles, and is comfortable. You can dress it up with heels or down with sneakers. You can go straight to a cocktail from work just by adjusting just makeup and accessories.

I don't want to build an extensive edit of denim in my closet, but I'm indeed on the market for the other two pairs, at least!

Jackets

One of the most loved trends is the puffer jacket this year. I'm not a fan of this particular trend, I admit. I don't love the fabrics and how a puffer jacket fits my body. I feel incredibly uncomfortable in it, so I stopped buying them a long time ago. I keep just one in my closet that I use only if I need to travel to an extremely windy and rainy location.

Instead of puffer jackets, you can use something you already have in your closet to layer during the transitional season: a cardigan. We loved them this winter. They are so cozy and warm. You can style them with a waist belt, wear them as a light coat, close all the buttons and wear them as a top. The options are endless. So, it's not the right time to put your cardigans away because, during the warmer months, you can use them as a jacket or a top layer. In addition, the fabric of the cardigan will give another dimension and texture to your outfit for an incredible final result.
