How to style knitwear: over 5 outfit ideas and my favorites from Nordstrom

Hi everyone, and welcome to a brand new week! Today I'm trying to cope with many emotions, so it's the perfect time to distract my mind with a new blog post. Since the cold is officially here, I'm a big fan of knitwear, and you loved the previous post about how to style a sweater vest; I wanted to share how to style knitwear.

Knitwear is a crucial part of my winter closet because I live with knit sweaters during the cold months. I wear them layered or at the skin contact, and after many years of experience, I can tell you some vital tips.

The first and most important tip is to pay attention to the material. Cashmere is the most light-weighted and warm. Wool can be itchy, but if you place the knit near your neck, you can feel if it's itchy for you or not. Don't buy it if it itches you because you'll stay uncomfortable even if you put layers underneath it.

The second tip is about the synthetic material inside the composition. Please avoid knitting with acrylic, polyester, or other synthetic material because it will make you sweaty. Synthetic materials don't let your skin perspire, so you feel hot but not cozy.

Last but not least, if you're building a knitwear closet, try to introduce variety with colors and shapes. Let's see the perfect starter kit. A roll-neck is ideal for layering, super warm, flattering, and timeless. A cardigan, I prefer a maxi cardigan like a coatigan or a cropped one; a chunky sweater is your bestie to wear with shirts or at skin contact or over the shoulders. A warm white cable-knit sweater and a light-weighted and thin V-neck sweater to recreate the French aesthetic.

Let's see over 5 outfit ideas to style knitwear this winter and, then, a selection of my favorites.
