How to beat the heat and still look cute.

Hi everyone, and welcome to July! What a heatwave! This is the typical time I want to dress up, feel cute, and have a pleasant stroll in the city, but I'm boiling with any clothes. So, I wanted to share how to beat the heat and still look cute.

Even though the main hack not to boil is to go out during the less hot hours, I have some tricks to use when the heatwave is here, and I have social appointments.

Fabrics

The first helper to beat the heat and still look cute is a great and natural fabric. Linen, silk, cotton, and viscose are excellent because they have some support, but you can breathe under the clothes and feel less hot. The design is also crucial because you prefer flowy designs rather than fitted ones.

During this time, I love linen pants, dresses, and skirts. But also cute cotton T-shirts for a more casual look. I love a slightly oversized fit but still flowy.

What's in my bag?

I always carry a water bottle, a cute pink fan, and something to tie my hair in my bag. They are my essentials to stay hydrated, have some air when I'm on the bus or in places with no air, and tie my hair in case I get sweaty or can't manage my hair.

If my bag is too small, I grab a tote bag or a more oversized bag to carry my essentials, lovely styled with my smaller bag. As mentioned in a previous post, I love a double bag situation in an outfit.

During this season, I quit my Dyson Airwrap, leaving my hair dry naturally. So, my curls and waves come up, and when I need to refresh my head, I put some water on my hair. I feel better instantly for multiple reasons. I hydrate my hair, have a source of freshness directly on my head and neck, and drop my body temperature slightly.

Accessories

Unfortunately, I can't wear any necklaces during the hotter days because my neck gets super irritated. But, I love playing around with rings - even my fingers are slightly swollen - bracelets and earrings. I love colorful, sparkly, and joyful jewels during this beautiful season, even during the daytime.

The nightmare of how I dress

These hotter days are perfect for a return to simplicity. We don't have enough energy to think of an elaborate outfit. Also, we are more willing to feel free from the layered looks of the colder months. So, I suggest simple outfits like linen pants and a top, a cute dress, a pair of shorts and a top, and give them a twist with the accessories. You can wear a silk scarf or a hat to protect the head, add texture, or cover a bad hair day. You can style some jewels by mixing and matching different metals and colors.

The mantra behind every look is to go with the flow. Let your soul and body feel free, light, and without pressure. You need this time to recharge and enjoy the moment rather than being in a curated outfit but sweaty.
