Getting ready for fall: 5 fall outfit ideas

Here we are at the end of August, can you believe is almost September? This summer has just flown by in a second! As you might know, I'm back in Milan since August 16th, and I'm in a whole back-to-work mood. I hope your summer was great, and you had the best time ever.

This is the fourth episode of the series Getting ready for fall, are you guys enjoying it?

I thought to share 5 fall outfit ideas easy to style and recreate with timeless and classic pieces for this episode. It could be a perfect occasion to refresh some items you already have in your closet or plan a smart purchase for the fall season.

So, without further due, let's kick off this Getting ready for fall episode!

Monochromatic with knitwear

For this fall, enjoy playing around with knitwear and colors. It could be wise to buy a knit set to wear with a statement coat or separately with trousers or shirts. It's such an effortless and timeless outfit to go for a monochromatic look. You'll look so put together and chic in a nut. It's also so easy to style because you just throw on the set, add gold jewelry, a good bag, and you're good to go!

Maxi dress and sandals

The temperatures are still suitable to wear sandals, but it's chillier. So, keep wearing your summer sandals, but pair them with a long sleeves maxi dress for an easy-to-syle fall outfit.

Plaid

What better season to wear plaid than the fall? You can go for a classic plaid or embrace the seasonal colors to play around with prints and textures.

So what's your favorite way to wear plaid?

Leather

I know that some of you immediately think of the classic leather jacket. But this fall 2021, you're going to love leather because it's going to be one of the biggest trends of the season. Trousers, shorts, skirts, coats, everything is going to be made out of leather. Also, if you buy it in neutrals, you can style it so quickly, and it'll last forever in your closet. Investing in a good leather piece is a must-have. I own a paper bag of leather trousers that I bought almost four years ago, and they are always on trend season after season. They are plain black, but I can wear them with everything and still look so chic.

Elevated sweatsuit and loungewear

If 2020 taught us something, it's how to embrace comfort and fashion in a unique outfit for sure. So, another excellent investment for this upcoming season is elevated sweatsuits and loungewear. The trick for these clothing pieces is looking for sets. You're going to look for plain color and more petite prints because you're going to look so much more put together and chic. Neutral and nudes are always a good idea, but a pop of color is also fun to style with some staples.

So, that was it! But, of course, there are so much more trends for fall 2021, but I wanted to focus on these five because I think they're more realistic to style on an everyday basis. Of course, basics are not going anywhere: turtlenecks, boots, blazers, cardigans, chunky knits are always a staple for the chillier season. But I thought to highlight these five trends to give you some inspiration to play around and have fun this upcoming season.

What would you love to wear this fall 2021? Personally, I can't wait to relax in a monochromatic knitwear set; it's my favorite!
