Get the perfect outfit on a budget with minimal fashion. Here are three tips to avoid fast fashion while still looking stylish.

Hi everyone! I spent much time on Pinterest this weekend because I was craving some inspiration. I love scrolling on Pinterest to stimulate my creativity, and I stumbled across many minimal outfit ideas. I want to share some minimal fashion inspiration and tips for achieving it on a budget.

Those following this blog might remember the series "On a Budget." For the new readers, welcome! I love sharing tips and tricks to achieve a fashion and lifestyle goal on a budget. I try everything to feel like a million dollars without breaking my bank account.

What's minimal fashion?

When I say minimal fashion, I refer to those outfits with key timeless pieces, apparently modest but exceptionally curated. You might think, "Oh, it's just a pair of trousers and a white shirt." But it's not. It's all in the details, the fitting, the minimal accessories, and the quality. So, paying attention and thinking like you're building a timeless closet to style endless outfits with the same clothes is crucial.

How to do it on a budget

How do you achieve that level without breaking the bank account? I love this question because I'm mastering this art year after year, and I can't wait to tell you my tips and tricks.

Tip #1. Edit your closet.

You want to edit your closet and keep only the clothes that have a timeless style and quality, some staples for special occasions, and delete the other items.

Pay attention to the fitting of your clothes on you. If you see something weird or need more confidence, throw it away.

Tip #2. Make a list.

I will repeat it until I'm old. Make a shopping list of all the items you need to shop for your style goal.

When editing your closet by category, write down the missing items. For example, you're editing your trousers and realize you need a pair of tailored black trousers. Write it down immediately. Continue this process for all categories of your closet. Ultimately, you'll have the perfect shopping list, and you can start the funniest part of your style transformation. Let's do some shopping!

Tip #3. Forget the fast fashion. Shop second-hand or vintage.

This tip changed my life for good. I was sure that the only way to dress cute on a budget was by shopping at H&M or other fast fashion shops. But I was wrong.

I still buy some pieces here and then, but nothing compared to two years ago.

I started shopping second-hand and vintage when I discovered Vinted. But Vestiaire Collective is another of my favorites. I found many great gems for a fraction of the retail price and built a tremendously versatile closet. It's less trendy and more focused on my lifestyle and favorite aesthetic.

The thing I love the most about shopping second-hand or vintage is that I need to be patient. It's different than an immediate add-to-the-cart process. It's more of an act of love and patience. That's why my shopping list is my angel guide. I go through it and pick one item I need to buy. Then I go on Vinted or Vestiaire and start looking for it. It may take days or weeks, but I guarantee I'll find it.

I recently bought a new pair of leather boots for 22 euros and a new pair of leather ballet flats for 9 euros.

The quality of the vintage pieces is incomparable and will last you a lifetime.

Another great place to shop is your mum's closet. Go to your family's closet and look for vintage pieces. I guarantee that you'll find gems.
