3 things I've learned since I started planning for my wedding

Hi everyone, how's your week going? I'm just relaxing for a moment and am so happy to have time for this blog post. Today's post concerns the wedding planning process because I want to document as much as possible for you to take inspiration and for me to have memories for the future.

I started planning for the wedding in September 2022, a month after the proposal. A journey has begun because I grew up so much from the planning, and I'm seeing a new world. Today I want to wrap up 3 things I've learned since I started planning for my wedding to share my experience with you.

It’s not THE dress <3

Hold the vision, trust the process.

The first thing I did after the proposal was downloading Matrimonio.com, an app with a complete to-do list with all the tasks, some inspirations, suppliers to contact, and so on. I immediately saw how many things I needed to do before the wedding day, and I was overwhelmed in seconds. But I love this app simultaneously because it gives me everything I need to manage the process.

I keep repeating to myself Hold the vision, trust the process because it's the perfect mantra for planning a wedding. I have an idea for the day; I know how I want to feel, the general mood, and some details. So, I started from there to plan everything. And I need to stick to my vision and trust the process, even if sometimes it's frustrating.

You'll need as much time as possible because you'll plan for the wedding while your daily life goes on. So, time is your best friend alongside your fiancè and wedding planner. Trust me, a wedding planner is life-changing because she'll handle and coordinate each supplier (catering, photographers, DJ, and so on) during the day. She'll be your angel during the day and the process. I love mine because I can ask her for advice; she tells me about details I could only imagine. In addition, she has the expertise to guide us throughout the process.

Sometimes it takes work to manage the planning phase because you need to call multiple suppliers before choosing yours; you'll pay deposits for a day that's a year from now and make many decisions in a matter of days. I often feel tired of everything, but I remind myself of my vision and get super motivated.

Share as much as possible.

You. Are. Not. Alone.

Share as much as possible with your fiancè, your best friend, and your parents. Keep sharing doubts, joys, and tasks with them because you're not alone and can ask for help. For example, I deeply love flowers but don't know as much about music. My fiancè is passionate about music but doesn't know as much about flowers. So, I shared the flowers' color palette and managed that task with the florist, and he shared some options for the music and worked the job with the DJ. I trust him, and he trusts me, so we can be comfortable with the tasks and share the work.

Take photos and videos.

I'm taking as many photos and videos as possible for two reasons. Firstly, I can rewatch the different options during the day following the meeting and think about what I love most with a clear mind. Lastly, I'm taking my time to plan the wedding with my fiancè because I want to live this process at my best and remember it in the future. So, I take photos and videos to make memories of this beautiful year before the wedding.

I've always dreamt of my wedding day with my fiancè. He's more than I could imagine for my partner. He makes me live like in a fairytale. So, marrying him is a dream, and I want to make the most out of it in terms of memories and emotions.
