10 treats I take for my me-time
Hi everyone! Do I need time to switch off my brain and recharge my energies? Oh yes, do I have my favorites to spend some quality me-time? You can bet on it. So, today’s post is the perfect opportunity to share my favorite 10 treats I take for my me-time. The weekend is around the corner, so let’s plan a rest session on our agenda!
I made some lifestyle changes at the beginning of 2023. Even if they improved my lifestyle and general wellness, some became a real treat. White noises from my sleep lamp are my favorite treats. Before sleep, I turn on my light with white noises every night to relax. I do it for at least 30 minutes, but sometimes even 10 minutes are enough.
Thanks to my new sleep lamp, I removed the phone from my bedroom. I stop using my phone before dinner and pick it up after breakfast. I’m happy with this switch because I feel calmer, and my sleep has improved. Another benefit of this lifestyle change is that I read a lot more because my scrolling time dropped tremendously. I get my escapism from beautiful fiction books and magazines.
My fourth treat is strongly linked with the previous two because I treated myself with an annual Vogue subscription. I have loved Vogue magazines since I was a kid, and I started reading them consistently with this subscription. It’s so convenient not only for money but also because the issues come to your door every month, and you have the digital version included! Finally, Harper’s Bazaar came to Italy, so I bought this too. These two magazines are the most inspiring ones I’ve ever read.
Usually, while I’m in bed with white noises and a good book or magazine, I drink a small cup of a relaxing infusion. This ritual is one of the crucial parts of the day I look forward to. I have a beautiful hand-painted cup I bought in Budapest some years ago, which has the perfect capacity for my night infusion.
I know that most of my treats are for a night me-time, but it’s usually when I complete my tasks and can focus on myself. But I could eventually consider doing this during the day on the weekend, and it would be lovely. So, what better treat than a cute and comfy PJ set to fully recharge your energies? The last treats on the list involve something for the skin and something else for the mood. Let’s start with the skin. My morning and evening skincare routines are my 5-to-10 minutes holy grail moments to disconnect from the world and talk to myself kindly. So, I take my time to cleanse, moisturize, and massage. I also recently bought eye patches, so now my day is complete. Then, I committed to applying at least a light makeup daily because I want to feel more confident or glow up. Lastly, something for the mood involves a sweet dessert. A few things lift up my spirit, like a sweet dessert can do. I know that it’s not the healthiest decision ever. Still, I learned on myself that it’s better to treat yourself to a sweet dessert when you’re craving it than deprive yourself and be sad for e whole day. That sadness and frustration will make you eat worse and more.
